A George III elm and ash dresser base of small cottage proportion. The single piece top with rounded edges sits above two frieze drawers. The drawers have brass swan-neck handles and escutcheon plates, with the right hand drawer having the only lock. Around the drawers is a simple screw scratch moulding.  A Victorian beech bentwood rocking chair, fitted with a blue upholstered seat and back. The bentwood rocker was invented by the Thonet brothers of Vienna, Austria in 1856. Their patent for the process expired in 1869, and imitations are still made today. This chair is a particularly good example of their style of work. Circa 1880 (PMP 349) £475.00
